The Next Generation in Node-Based Seismic Acquisition Technology
SI’s latest product is the Master Smart Line Interface Module (MSLIM), which is projected
to go into production at the end of the first quarter of 2011.
The first MSLIM to be produced will support an FDU link based nodal system, representing
a bright future for users of the Sercel 408 and 428* seismic acquisition equipment.
Maximize the return on your investment by economically converting your 408/428 links
and sensors into advanced autonomous recording nodes using the MSLIM, eliminating
the need for transverse line units and cables.

for an FDU link based Autonomous Recording Node.
MSLIM FEATURES
- Scalable from one node with a handful of channels all the way up to a practically
infinite number of channels.
- Lightweight, rugged, versatile, low-power, and easy-to-use.
- Operates in both wired telemetry mode (up to 5000 real-time channels per 2-D line)
or standalone mode for node-based, cable-free spread layouts.
- Engineering mode available for small systems (even a single node can be hooked up
to a laptop) with an optional external shooting interface including auxiliary channels.
- Set it and forget it — featuring long-time continuous data acquisition in standalone
mode which can consistently record for up to weeks at a time (depending on memory,
number of channels, sampling rate and battery capacity).
- Power source: two hot-swappable batteries — use either a normal car battery or an
intelligent long life lithium battery with optional solar panel for extended operation
without replacement.
- Optional external satellite modem link for long-range data transfer.
- Provides power and control for up to 6 x 12 SMG (Smart Geophone® sensor) strings
— in total up to 72 channels per node — allowing users to quickly and easily lay
out “3-D lines.”
- Universal I/O Connection: connect Ethernet (in engineering configurations), a removable
memory module, or radio hook-ups for real-time wireless quality control (QC).
- Rugged removable storage for seismic data — scalable up to 64 gigabytes for operation
in standalone mode — featuring extremely high speed data harvesting support (an entire
day's worth of measurement results for a node with 100 channels can be downloaded
within a minute).
- Built-in radio for real-time wireless quality control (QC).
- Built-in signal processing capability for advanced quality control (QC).
- True real-time data acquisition in wired telemetry mode.
- Optional redundant storage, hot-swappable for convenient and easy data harvesting
in the field.
- Features built-in, GPS-based, precise, reliable timing synchronization and location
survey utilities.
- Enhanced battery management: the unit calculates current charge level and remaining
operation time (when using an intelligent battery).
- Intelligent programmable “wake-up” protocol for long time measurements in (quasi-)permanent
surveys (e.g., well monitoring).
- Intelligent, automatic, DSP-aided channel testing and self test features ensure reliable
operation.
